Kansas City Bankruptcy Attorney Representing Clients in Kansas and Missouri with Dedication and Skill If you are facing overwhelming debt or home foreclosure, bankruptcy is an option worth exploring. In finding effective solutions to your debt problems, consult a lawyer with experience, a lawyer who knows the bankruptcy law and understands the implications of your potential options. With so much at stake, having an attorney who will go the extra mile to get to know you, understand the unique aspects of your situation and provide you with an honest assessment of your chances of success is essential. At the office of Jay T. Grodsky, Attorney at Law, in Leawood, I have almost 30 years of experience representing Kansas City Metro area individuals in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases. In all aspects of my practice, I emphasize personal attention. I work with great intensity and focus at every step. Protecting the best interests of my clients is at the heart of what I do. I represent clients in all matters involving Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, from the initial filing through final discharge. My goal throughout the process is to make it as easy, clear and stress-free for you. Because of my experience, I can identify obstacles early on, so that they can be addressed and resolved before they become a problem. Chapter 7 A Chapter 7 bankruptcy allows individuals to wipe out most debts. While certain debts may not be discharged, such as support arrearages, student loans and some taxes, Chapter 7 allows people to get fresh start. I will work hard to determine your eligibility for Chapter 7, exploring ways you might qualify under the means test even if your income is greater than the state median. Chapter 13 Federal bankruptcy laws changed in 2005, making it more difficult for some individuals to qualify for protection under Chapter 7. However, even if you exceed income and asset requirements for Chapter 7, you have a good option with Chapter 13 bankruptcy. In a Chapter 13 filing, you debts are restructured so you can repay your creditors over a 3 to 5 year period, and your debts will discharged at the end of the repayment period. Areas of Practice
